The start of this semester has been a little bit rough and the month of January has been particularly interesting…in a very neutral way. Things were up and things went back to normal, so I guess it’s not so much neutral, but slightly positive?
Anyway, I went to the gym for the first time this year on Monday. I weighed myself and discovered that I had somehow lost seven pounds. However, I’ve had two Happy Meals from McDonald’s this week (Hello Kitty toy!!) and I feel as if I’ve gained back any weight I’ve lost.
During my run, I averaged 8:40/mi, with some unaccounted for time for breaks. One of my best friends challenged me to drop down to 8:20/mi by the end of this month. And I will do it!
I’ve been running a little bit more the past three days. I forgot my inhaler for the first two days, but remembered it on the third day…holy cow, what a difference it makes in my running.
I fly back to school tonight. I don’t really want to leave my home though, but I’m kind of looking forward to it because it means I can stop telling myself, “I can have another helping because I won’t get to eat it at school. Plus, I’m leaving in X days.” My mom cooks so well and usually pretty healthily; my main problem is portion control. I just love food!
I’ve been doing a little better with food, but not much. I was out downtown with a friend today, so I was splurging a little. I filled up with a smoothie from Jamba Juice before lunch and saved half of my sandwich, which I ate later while waiting for the train to take me home for dinner.
I hope to get into an exercise schedule after I figure out what’s going on with my school schedule. Which I hope is soon. Sigh.
Happy 2013, you guys! For whatever reason you want to become fit, I believe that you can do it or continue doing it :)
I hope for me and for all of you that this is the year that things will change for the better.
